Context
The Cameras module is part of an internal company portal that we designed, developed and deployed for a client from the property, logistics and operations area. The portal consolidates dozens of corporate agendas into one environment with unified login, roles and auditable history — and the Cameras module is a key part of it.
Challenge
The camera system was managed externally without a central record of the cameras, their location and status. Access to streams was fragmented and the link to projects or sites was missing.
How we delivered
Central record of camera systems with location map, link to projects and locations and direct access to streams from the portal. The portal replaced fragmented approaches through various applications and manual records.
Client benefits
Central records replaced torn records. Access to the stream is one click without searching for IP addresses and passwords. Linking to projects enables quick location of the camera on the construction site.

We designed the module with future development in mind — the modular architecture allows adding new fields, reports or integrations without interfering with the existing core. Clean code, documentation, and separate configuration files ensure that the system can be developed by another team — without depending on one person who knows "how it works."

Module functions in detail
- Camera records
- Every camera has a card with the type, location, stream address and responsible person. Cameras are assigned to a site or project.
- Location management
- Sites and buildings in a code list; moving a camera to another site is recorded in the history.
- Stream playback
- The live view opens directly from the portal according to permissions, without a separate app and without sharing camera passwords.
- Permissions
- Who sees which camera follows from the role and project. Stream access can be revoked in one place.
