Context
The Reservation of rooms module is part of the internal company portal that we designed, developed and implemented for a client from the area of property, logistics and operations. The portal consolidates dozens of corporate agendas into one environment with unified login, roles and auditable history — and the Room Reservation module is a key part of it.
Challenge
Room reservations were handled via email and informal tables. Date conflicts were common, no one could see actual availability in real time, and ownership of the reservation was unclear. Even a simple slot change meant a series of phone calls and messages.
How we delivered
We designed reservations as a fast calendar module with real-time availability and no bureaucracy.
Selecting an appointment: the user selects a room or resource and immediately sees the available times.
Overlap protection: Checks for reservation conflict when saving; the system will not allow a conflict term.
Simple model: reservation exists or is deleted, without complicated approval.
Connection: calendar display of room and resource availability and internal email confirmations.
Audit: reservation creation and cancellation record and event note for retrospection.
